Eisa Davis is an award-winning performer, composer, and writer. She sings her own original music on the albums Something Else and Tinctures, and in the music theater piece Flowers Are Sleeping, commissioned by Symphony Space. She is currently writing songs for Devil in a Blue Dress with Walter Mosley.
Eisa was in the original cast of the Broadway rock musical Passing Strange, filmed for the screen by Spike Lee, and has appeared in numerous other hybrid musical works including Dave Malloy and Rachel Chavkin’s Preludes,This by Melissa James Gibson, The Cradle Will Rock at Encores! Off-Center, and her own stage memoir Angela’s Mixtape. Notable screen performing credits include House of Cards, The Wire, Hart of Dixie, Blindspot, Welcome To The Rileys, and Free Angela.
She was awarded an Obie for Sustained Excellence in Performance and received a Herb Alpert Award in the Arts.
