Panayotis League

Panayotis League is a performer, composer, and ethnomusicologist specializing in the music and oral poetry traditions of Greece, Brazil, and Ireland. Equally at home on violin, various lutes, button accordion, percussion, and the tsambouna (goatskin bagpipe), he frequently performs across the Americas, Greece, Europe, and Turkey, and has been featured on over a hundred recordings, including a new collaboration with Kalymnian violinist Michalis Kappas. A PhD candidate in Ethnomusicology at Harvard University, Panayotis is writing a dissertation on music, memory, and material culture in the Anatolian Greek diaspora.
