Themis Panou graduated from the Department of Theatre Studies at the University of Athens and from the “E. Chatzikou” drama school. He is a member of the International Theater Institute, the Greek Union of Actors, and the Greek-European Academy of Cinema. Since 2000 he has collaborated with the National Theater of Greece, participating in international tours in Europe, America, Australia, and Asia in 2000–2003.
Panou has worked with most Greek directors (including Minotis, Kokkos, Koniordou, Leontaris, Maganaki, Livathinos, Papavasiliou, Chouvardas, Lumperopoulou, Moschopoulos, Marmarinos, Kontouri, Chatzakis, Tsianos, Nikolaides, Toufexis, Fasoulis, Lazopoulos, Chatzopoulos, Kakoyiannis, Antipas, Kakleas, Milivojevich, and Theodorou), and has played starring roles in the plays of Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Aristophanes, Shakespeare, Ben Jonson, Molière, Marivaux, Goldoni, Beckett, Ibsen, Pushkin, Goethe, Dario Fo, Gorky, Brecht, Weiss, Lorca, Kapetanakis, Karides, Matesis, Dimitriades, among others. He has also taken part in significant Greek festivals at Epidaurus, Herodion, Fillipon, and Dion.
